BU women win 6th straight - Illinois State next



(From Bradley University) - Bradley rallied from a second-half deficit for the second consecutive game to extend its win streak to a season-best six games as the Braves edged visiting Indiana State 59-54 at Lorene Ramsey Gym Thursday.  Sophomore Hanna Muegge scored 14 second-half points and finished with a career-best 19 as she helped Bradley move into a tie with Creighton for second place in the Missouri Valley Conference standings.

Bradley overcame 26 turnovers and a 10-for-28 performance at the free throw line by limiting Indiana State to 32.2 percent shooting and connecting on 9-of-19 three-pointers, including 6-for-11 (54.5 percent) from beyond the arc in the second half.

Muegge was a perfect 5-for-5 from the field, including 4-of-4 from three-point range as she finished with a career-best 19 points.  Sonia Harris collected her team-leading fourth double-double of the year (10 points and 15 rebounds), while freshman Katie Yohn added 11 points off the bench.  Junior Raisa Taylor added six points, nine rebounds, seven assists and three steals in 34 minutes of play.

Bradley returns to action Sunday when the Braves play host to I-74 rival Illinois State at 2:05 p.m. at Lorene Ramsey Gym. Ed Hammond and Joe Stowell will call the action on 1290 WIRL beginning Sunday at 1:45 p.m.
