State of the City preview
It's better here. Peoria Area Chamber of Commerce COO Rob Parks says she expects to hear and extension of that message during Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis' State of the City Address. Parks says while there may not be a lot of job growth going on natiowide, the Peoria area has plenty going for it right now. "We're still in the middle of big expansion projects at two of the three hospitals in Peoria," says Parks. "We're all very optimistic about the new hotel and its connection to the Civic Center and then, of course, the (Peoria Riverfront) museum and the Cat Visitor's Center. Those are all real positives." But, Parks says, the Chamber wants to hear the Mayor address restructuring and alternate delivery of services. Peoria District 150 interim Superintendent Norm Durflinger will also give a progress report on Peoria schools during the Mayor's State of the City Address next Wednesday at the Holiday Inn City Centre.
