The Air Force Outstanding Unit award will be presented to members of Bartonville based 182nd Airlift Wing during a special ceremony Saturday morning at 830am at the local base. The honor signifies exceptional meritorious services provided by the 182nd from October 1st, 2006 through September 30, 2008. During that time period, more than 380 personnel and support equipment accomplished all assigned missions with a maximum degree of combat readiness to various hostile ares in defense of the country. Illinois National Guard Assistant Adjutant Brigadier General John Hughes will be in attendance at Saturday morning's event. 182nd Commander Colonel William Robertson will attach the award streamer to the unit flag. He will also single out various meritorious members of the 182nd Airlift Wing.
