Bradley University gets research dollars

Bradley University is getting nearly $10,000 for research on neurodegenerative diseases. The money comes from the Don Bohlander Parkinson's Foundation and was raised at a race held at the Peoria Speedway in May. Bohlander, who was diagnosed with Parkinson's disease years ago, won the Illinois State Championship stockcar race seven times. The money is going toward the research of Bradley biology assistant professor Craig Cady. Cady's research focuses on developing neurons from stem cells that might be introduced into the brains of patients suffering from neurodegenerative diseases.
