House Fire On Peoria's South Side

Emergency crews responded to a house fire at 1116 S. Blaine in Peoria.

Firefighters saw dense smoke coming from an upstairs window when they arrived on the scene just before 7:00 a.m. Wednesday.

Battallion Chief Ron Jones says three people and a dog were in the house but they were able to escape unharmed. An ambulance was called to attend to the occupants, if necesary.

Jones says the fire was contained to the upstairs. One firefighter suffered a cut finger.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
