Following 31 years with the Central Illinois Region of the American Red Cross, Anne Fox will retire at the end of August.
Fox is the current CEO and credited with helping the region grow to serve more than two-million people in 45 counties.
The local chapter also served as disaster operation headquarters for the two largest disasters in the area - last year's floods and the November 17th tornadoes Washington, East Peoria and Pekin.
"Anne has dedicated her life to helping others, and our organization will be forever grateful," says board chairman Gregory Folley. "She has earned our Red Cross Central Illinois Region a nationwide reputation on ongoing excellence and outstanding disaster recovery service."
Folley says a replacement for Fox "will be appointed in the near future."
