Obama Asks For $2 Billion For Migrant Crisis

(AP) - The White House says President Obama has no plans to visit the U.S.-Mexico border when he travels to Texas this week.

Tuesday, Obama plans to ask Congress for more than $2 billion to deal with the crisis of unaccompanied migrant kids entering the U.S. illegally.

In prepared remarks for the Senate floor, Texas Republican John Cornyn says, "President Obama needs a wakeup call - and visiting the border and seeing firsthand the severity of this ongoing crisis is that wakeup call."

President Obama travels to Texas Tuesday for several fundraisers and an economic speech.
