Delavan Board Approves Zoning Changes

Delavan is a bit closer to becoming a hub for medical marijuana in Central Illinois.

Monday night, the city's Zoning Board forwarded a recommendation to make zoning changes to accomodate building a marijuana cultivation center at Rt. 122 and Springfield Rd.

The cultivation center would cost $5.8 million to build.

The Delavan City Council still needs to vote on the growing facility that could bring in millions to the city if approved.

A public hearing is scheduled Tuesday night in Delavan.
