The Death of Derrick Booth Jr. Ruled A Homicide

A coroners jury has ruled the death of Derrick Booth Jr. as a homicide.

Booth was killed last month in the 800 block of South Greenlawn of Peoria.

Police say Sean Walls shot Booth in the chest while on a porch. Walls turned himself into Police two days after the shooting.
He has pleaded not guilty and could face two counts of first degree murder.

22-year old Derrick Booth Jr. was the son of Manual High School Basketball coach Derrick Booth Sr. and the step-son of State Representative Jehan Gordon-Booth.
