Severe Weather Threat Staying South of Peoria

The potential for severe weather will stay south of I-74.

Strong storms capable of producing damaging winds and heavy rainfall are developing west of the Mississippi River, and are expected to move on a line from Quincy to Springfield.

The National Weather Service in Lincoln says the greatest threat for severe weather is shifting further south of I-74.

The timing of any storm activity will be between midnight and 3am Wednesday for Peoria, Tazewell and Woodford counties.

The storms that would pass through Central Illinois, have the potential for damaging winds up 50-70mph and heavy rainfall, that could produce flash flooding
