The Chicago Bears will pay a second visit to Washington.
The Bears will be in town Friday at 10:00 a.m. for a flag-raising ceremony in the square. Then, they'll go to Bethany Community Church to go through volunteer orientation before assisting with debris cleanup, primarily raking debris from homeowners' yards. The Red Cross will also be on hand to provide refreshments to volunteers.
Kicker Robbie Gould was among a group of Bears players who visited Washington in December in the aftermath of the November tornado.
Bethany Community Church is still coordinating teams to perform debris removal, light demolition and other clean up assistance. For more information on volunteering and available dates, call the volunteer hotline at (309) 573-2670.
