Investigators have named a suspect in a shooting that left the son of a local high school basketball coach and stepson of a state representative dead.
Peoria police are looking for Sean Walls, 37, in connection with the murder of Derrick Booth, Jr. Booth was gunned down around 2:30 a.m. Saturday in the 800 block of S. Greenlawn. The 22-year-old son of Manual Academy boys basketball coach Derrick Booth and stepson of State Rep. Jehan Gordon-Booth was pronounced dead at a hospital about half an hour after officers found him wounded on the front porch of a house.
Walls, the alleged shooter, is described as a 6’2” tall black male weighing about 180 pounds. Officials ask that you contact the Peoria Police Department at (309) 673-4521 or Crimestoppers at (309) 673-9000 if you spot him or know where he may be hiding.
