New Flood Forecast For Illinois River

The National Weather Service has revised the forecast for flooding along the Illinois River.

The river, at Peoria, is now expected to crest at the 18-foot flood stage around midnight Tuesday night. Earlier, it was predicted the recent rain along with snow melt would boost the river a foot above flood stage.

Peoria's record crest of 29.5 feet was set last April.
