The Head Groundskeeper for the Peoria Chiefs is taking his talents to Super Bowl XLVIII.
While most people just pay attention to the two teams on the field, Mike Reno is part of a different team working to give the Denver Broncos and Seattle Seahawks a field on which to play this Sunday. Reno has made the annual journey to the big game as part of the NFL's grounds crew since 2001.
"The NFL needed some extra people, and my old bosses from Arizona State recommended me," Reno said. "It's a great experience. You meet other people from around the country who do the same thing you do. We're able to network and get helpful pointers."
Reno is among a crew of about 30 people who paint the endzones on, apply the logos to, and clear snow from the field at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. The Super Bowl is Sunday at 5:30 p.m.
