A Deputy Circuit Clerk at Peoria County has been formally charged for allegedly trying to cover up murder evidence for her son.
Kimberly McNeil was charged Friday with two counts of obstructing justice and one count of aiding a fugitive. She is the mother of Michael and Marquis Costic, who were linked to a shooting that left one dead and another injured last April.
McNeil allegedly got rid of the weapon used in the shooting and helped one of her sons leave the state.
She has a preliminary hearing scheduled for Feb. 13.
Marquis was found guilty of murder last week. Michael's trial is set for March.
