Bradley basketball center Will Egolf will definitely miss Wednesday game at Southern Illinois.
Egolf is in the Peoria County Jail and will stay behind bars until at least Wednesday.
Sources tell 1470 WMBD Egolf and Jared Fletcher, 34, were arrested around 9 p.m. Monday near Western and Heading. Egolf, 23, was booked in the County Jail on a charge of possession of a controlled substance. Fletcher was booked on charges of distribution of a controlled substance and driving with a suspended license.
Jail officials say Egolf will remain in custody pending a hearing Wednesday afternoon.
The Journal Star quotes Bradley's student-athlete handbook as saying a drug related offense is a major rules violation and carries a suspension of at least ten percent of a team's scheduled games. That means at least four games in Egolf's case.
Bradley head basketball coach Geno Ford, in a statement released by the university, says "We are still in the process of gathering all of the information related to Will's situation."
"Once we have our arms around all of the facts," Ford says, "we will take appropriate actions."
