One of the participants in the recent Don't Shoot "call-in" has been arrested.
Peoria police report 30 year old Jerome Jones and another man were taken into custody Thursday and charged with the beating, kidnapping and robbery of an East Bluff man.
Police Chief Steve Settingsgaard tells news partner News 25, Jones was one of 9 of the 29 Don't Shoot "call-ins" who asked for help to get his life turned around.
Settingsgaard says, "the issue with Jermone is a level of disappointment for him". The Chief says he had been in contact with Jones along the way. Settingsgaard says his take was "Jerome was sincere in wanting to change but right now he is in custody for a very serious felony violent crime that happened less than a week ago".
The other man arrested is 18 year old Jarvis Logan. Police are looking for a 3rd suspect in the case.
Settingsgaard doesn't think Jones' arrest hurts the Don't Shoot effort.
