The preliminary information the Boston Marathon explosions are not a random act has both the attention of Peoria Police and Peoria County Sheriff's Department.
Police Chief Steve Settingsgaard says officers have been told to be cautious of any suspicious packages.
Sheriff Mike McCoy says so far, he has issued no official warnings to his Deputies.
But, both Settingsgaard and McCoy are keeping up with information about the unfortunate events coming out of Boston Monday.
The "No Fly Zone" called by the FAA over Boston had no impact on Peoria International Airport.
Airport Director Gene Olson says he received no directive from either FAA of TSA following the Boston Marathon tragedy.
Olson says another reason Peoria was not affected at all is, there are no direct flights from here to Boston.
