A high school teacher at Manual Academy will make a first federal court appearance Monday.
Amanda Ludwig, 28, is charged with a federal complaint of enticing a minor for sex. Peoria Police and Peoria Public School's Resource officers investigated the matter based on receiving a tip on Friday.
Officers saw Ludwig at the Manual basketball game Friday evening and arrested her there.
District 150 Superintendent Dr. Grenita Lathan says "the accusations made against the staff member are serious" and the district will continue to totally cooperate in the investigation.
Police say Ludwig apparently made contact by texts, attempting to solicit the student into sex.
Ludwig remains in Peoria County Jail.
