A little over two weeks after the murder of a woman inside her home on Mossville Road stunned the community, police have made no arrests and haven't named any suspects.
And while Peoria Police Chief Steve Settingsgard understands the public's desire for quick justice, he says murder investigations are something you simply do not rush.
"I don't mean to say we work it slowly, we work it as quickly as we can, but we don't rush to things and hurt a case by being in a hurry," Settingsgard said Thursday when interviewed by 1470 WMBD.
The chief adding that any information released prematurely could jeopardize the investigation.
Police haven't named any suspects in the death of Denise Leuthold, 39, who was gunned down on Valentine's Day inside her home at 700 West Mossville Road.
