The Missouri Valley Conference is going shopping in its search for a new member.
The Kansas City Star reports conference representatives will be visiting four schools this week - Missouri-Kansas City, Valparaiso, Loyola of Chicago and Illinois-Chicago.
Long time Valley member Creighton announced last month it's leaving the Valley to join the so-called Catholic 7 to form a new Big East Conference.
Valparaiso, Loyola and UIC are all current members of the Horizon League. UMKC announced last month it was leaving the Summit League for the Western Athletic Conference.
Missouri Valley Commissioner Doug Elgin has said the Valley could go into the next season with nine members if the right fit for the conference cannot be found. But, in a perfect world, he'd like to see a new member join before July first.
