A Peoria man is charged in connection with a shooting near Manual Academy this week.
Markes Wilson, 18, appeared in Peoria County Court Friday and is charged with one count of aggravated battery.
Prosecutors say the 17-year old victim was trying to buy marijuana at the corner of Griswold and Marquette when Wilson pulled a gun. The victim ran from Wilson and was shot in the leg.
Bond was set at $125,000 but the Journal Star reports it doesn't matter because the Department of Corrections put a parole hold on Wilson from a 2012 conviction for obstructing justice. Wilson got a two-year prison sentence for that conviction.
