A Creve Coeur police officer has left his job after his arrest for allegedly attacking two Pekin high school students while off duty last month. Whether Chad Hjortshoj will face criminal prosecution, remains to be determined. The Tazewell County State's Attorney tells the Journal Star his case remains under investigation. Hjortshoj had been scheduled to be in court January 8th.
Hjortshoj , 41, who lives in Pekin, served as a Creve Coeur police officer for about three years, before he resigned Dec. 14. He is accused of beating up the two Pekin students on school grounds in the parking lot, Hjortshoj allegedly accused the students of harrassing his girlfriend's son.
