The suspect who allegedly held up the Bartonville Hardees Tuesday afternoon has been apprehended. 33 year old Matthew Caudill of Peoria was taken into custody Thursday and taken to Peoria County Jail.
Bartonville Police Chief Brian Fengel says his department learned Caudill had been arrested earlier Tuesday by Creve Coeur Police after waving a toy gun at an employee of the Creve Coeur Dollar General Store. His apparent behavior led to his arrest by Creve Coeur officers. At the time, he was charged with disorderly conduct, possession of a controlled substance and possesion of drug paraphernalia.
Tips and leads led to Caudill being identifid as the suspect of the Hardees stick up later in the day Tuesday. Police then were able to locate him. Caudill has now been charged with armed robbery and aggravated assault.
