If you have either moved around a lot and/or have used the services of multiple doctors and health facilities, coordinating your records can be difficult. But, a relatively new non profit organization now has instituted a 20 county network in Central Illinois with the purpose of coordinating your medical records.
The Central Illinois Health Information Exchange held a demonstration seminar in Peoria Thursday to update stakeholders on the I-T based network that is now up and running.
Laura Zaremba is Director and State Health I-T Coordinator of the Illinois Office of Health. Zaremba says information technology is the roadway to quickly expiditing needs of patients. The Central Illinois Health Information Exchange looks to link with the Nationwide Health Network in the future to expand it's coverage.
Local provider CIAN is one of two I-T firms involved in providing techonolgy for the 20 county network.
