Sharing services between the city of Peoria and Peoria County isn't as simple as it might seem. The City-County Metro Committee met Thursday to discuss possible ways to merge Information Technology. The group seemed to agree a total merge isn't prudent. Peoria City Manager Patrick Urich says each public body has varying needs.
Urich says there are still ways to step-up communication between the two IT departments, which would result in more efficiency and hopefully some cost savings. The now defunct PASS Forward committee was temporarily formed to study shared possible city-county services. One of it's suggesstions was an I-T merge.
