Over 20,000 Expected To Visit Civic Center This Weekend

The event season in downtown Peoria is now gearing up following the holidays.  Peoria Civic Center Marketing Director Marc Burnett this weekend will bring in 20,000 people from Friday through Sunday.

Burnett says the Midwest Cheerleading & Dance Team Championships are in town Friday, Saturday and Sunday.  Also, the annual family fest goes on all day Saturday  That coupled with the Rascal Flats Friday night and the Bradley vs. Missouri State game Saturday night, the streets will be full of vehicle traffic.

Burnett says more big events are on the way now through March.  Burnett says this is all part of the master plan after Civic Center added more space 5 years ago.

Burnett says there are 29 parking decks and lots downtown, so there is plenty of room to park your car.  He says 12 are within two blocks of the Civic Center.  So, parking this weekend will not be a major problem.
