The snow drought comes to an end in a big way. The National Weather Service reports as of midnight, 5 inches of snow fell in Peoria yesterday. That snapped the string of 320 days since the last snowfall of at least an inch in Peoria February 25th of last year.
Henry reported 3.9 inches. Three and a half inches reported in Eureka and Kickapoo as of 10:00 Thursday night.
The Winter Weather Advisory was issued for the area was cancelled at midnight.
News 25/HOI 19 Meteorologist Chuck Collins says there will still be west winds at around 15 miles an hour Friday, which will still result in some blowing snow.
Monday, for the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday, temperatures will be in the 40's...with rain.
