East Peoria Festival of Lights coordinator Dan Cunningham says there are two pieces of good news when it come to the 2012 event. One is, FOLEPI is seeing the bottom line for the festival is on the profit side for the first time in several years.
Secondly, Cunningham says the council has now approved a low bid to finish off conversion to L-E-D lighting for all floats. Cunningham says this means huge operatuional savings.
Cunningham says FOLEPI has already been slowly making the transition to L-E-D. He says utility expenses have already been cut down from $60,000 dollars to $7,000 dollar in 2011, with L-E-D lighting.
