Dozens Arrested At Pekin Underage Drinking Party New Years Morning

An underage drinking party in Pekin early New Years morning results in 25 arrests.  Most of those apprehended were 19 or 20 year old male and females.  Two 17 year olds and one 18 year old were also taken into custody.  Pekin officers were called to the residence at 2503 Brooklawn about 300am Sunday morning.

While waiting for back-up, officers noticed at least two people were lying on the floor of the home, appearing unresponsive, so they called for emergency fire and ambulance assistance.  Police then entered the home to check on the welfare of the two.   When other officers tried to enter, they were blocked at the door by one partygoer.  Some of those at the party managed to escape once police got into the home.

A 19 year old male who left the party before police entered, was followed by one squad car, and subsequently arrested for DUI.  One adult age 21 was arrested.  Another, 22 year old Amanda Miller, was arrested for allowing underage drinkers at the home.  But, it's not clear yet, if it was Miller's home.  Another 19 year old male was arrested for solicitation of funds without registration.

The Journal Star reports everyone involved are being tight-lipped about the party, so officers are till sorting the details out.
