Bond For Murder Suspect Set At $1M



Bond has been set at one million dollars for a man charged with the shooting and eventual death of another man.  Robert Buford continues to be held in Peoria County jail on first degree murder charges.  Buford is accused of shooting Yalya Doud, also kniown as John, Malhmoud November 4th while the victim sat in a car on East Republic.

The 45 year old Malmoud was shot in the chest through the windshield as two men approached the car while a woman sat in the passenger seat with Malmoud.  The woman escaped the car and Malmoud attempted to drive off.  Emergency crews found him down the block on Republic. The victim's wallet and phone also came up missing during the incident. 

Malmoud was released from the hospital November 23rd, but 3 days later died from his injuries while recovering at home.  Buford has several past criminal convictions.
