The cause of a Christmas Day Peoria house fire is under investigation. Fire fighters thought they had a fire in a bedroom of the house at 1809 West Smith when they got there just before 4:00 Sunday afternoon. The fire was actually on the front porch beneath a bedroom window causing the window to break out. All residents were outside when crews arrived. They said a box of wrapping paper was under the window for trash. The fire consumed most of the box, while there was some heat damage to inside window dressings. There were no injuries.
