Illinois State Police have arrested two Peoria residents on gun and drug charges after a traffic stop.  Troopers stopped a vehicle near Forrest Hill and Easton early Wednesday morning for a traffic violation.  The trooper noticed the smell of cannabis.  A search of the vehicle turned up a load semi automatic handgun, later determined to be a stolen weapon.  The officer also found cannabis in the vehicle.  Arrested are 21 year old Brandon Mitchell and 21 year old Orlando Mathews.  They are being held in Peoria County Jail on weapons and drug charges.
