Only three races are shaping up for Peoria County Board next year



There are only three races next year for the 18 spots on the Peoria County board, with only one primary contest.The filing period has come and gone and the races are shaping up in districts 6, 16 and 17.

The contest in District 17 pits the current Peoria County Board Chairman, Democrat Tom O'Neill against Republican Rudy Lewis. Lewis is the chairman of the Peoria County Republican party. In District 16 Republican incumbent Brad Harding will face Democrat William Atwood.

There will be a primary on the Democratic side of the ticket in District 6 where incumbent Allen Mayer will take on Rick Waldron. The inner on March 20th will face Republican Michael Emerson next November.

Other county wide races include Democrat Evonne Fleming challenging Republican Nancy Horton for Recorder of Deeds and the race for state's attorney between Democrat Jerry Brady and Republican Frank Ierulli.
