Warm temperatures brought thousands to downtown Peoria for the 124th annual Santa Claus Parade this day after Thanksgiving.
The Grand Marshall this year was recently retired WEEK-TV weatherman Lee Ranson. He took credit for the sunny skies. Ranson says if he was to be the grand marshal there had to be grand weather. He says he has been attending the parade since he was a child.
Mike Unes walked in the parade for the first time since being elected 91st District State Representative. He says it is a thrill for his children to see the parade up close. Unes says they were ready to see Santa Claus, who wrapped up the parade as usual.
82 units went through downtown as part of this year's parade.
