Council To Consider Adopting Next Budget, After Refuse Collection/Fee Decision
Tuesday's Peoria City Council meeting will mostly deal with review of recent ongoing issues including a vote to adopt of the 2012 fiscal budget. The city's refuse collection and fee schedule will be looked into again, following last Thursday's controversial vote.
The Council last week failed to adopt the primary option by one super majority vote. Then, they quickly adopted the alternative plan, even though most said they only did so, to bring forward both options again. Both options call for refuse cost increases, but in a more incremental form. Once either option or none at all is decided upon, then the 2012 budget can be brought to a vote.
Prior to that, another Warehouse District policy session will continue. Also, a review of the one way or two way street argument for Jefferson and Adams within the Warehouse District plan is expected to go up for final consideration. The Warehouse District issues have to be finalized and submitted to IDOT but the end of the year, or $10 million dollars in TIGER II funding is is jeopardy.
The meeting begins at 615pm in City Council Chambers.
