Washington boy dies

An 11-year old Washington boy is dead after becoming entangled in rope in his backyard. Thomas Sawchuk was pronounced dead in the emergency room at OSF Saint Francis Medical Center at 6:00 Wednesday evening, less than an hour after his mother called 911. The Peoria County Coroner's office says the boy went out to play after he got home from school and his mother later looked out a window and found him entangled in a rope attached to a clothes line T-bar. The mother says it was routine for her son to play with the rope. An autopsy is scheduled for today (Thursday).
