Peoria police make weapons arrests



Peoria police arrest four people on various weapons charges after two separate traffic stops. 19-year old Ian Gayles of Peoria was stopped for a traffic violation near Main and University. Officers spotted marijuana in plain sight and later during a search of the car found a semi-automatic gun, ammunition and more marijuana. Officers during a second traffic stop in the 1100 block of North University smelled burnt cannibis and later found a handgun in the glove compartment. The three occupants all denied knowing about the gun. Arrested were 21-year old Sergio Herron, 18-year old Robert Nunn and 17-year old Jaylin Jones - all of Peoria.
