Two people are in custody for an armed robbery in Peoria Tuesday morning.
Peoria police say 23 year old John Finley of LowPoint-Washburn and 21 year old Kevin Roderick of Peoria were taken into custody for armed robbery about 10am after they were pulled over by officers at Corrington and Sheridan. Authorities say prior to the arrest a white male entered the Smoker's Outlet at 3301 North Prospect, showed the clerk the butt of a gun and demanded money. He then fled with cash.
A witness observed the robber get in a car driven by another man and speed away. The description of the car was given to police who then pulled it over and arrested Finley and Roderick. Police say both men were taken back to the store and the robber was identified by the clerk. A gun was also recovered.
Both men were transported to the Peoria County Jail.
