A semi has tipped on its side in the southbound lanes of of Adams/North Galena Road near the entrance to the McCluggage Bridge. The semi was carrying a load of what appears to be sand which was spilled onto the roadway. Emergency crews are on scene working to clean up the site. The driver of the truck was extricated from the vehicle and is being treated for injuries. All but one northbound lane appears to be blocked due to the accident.
