Harvest nearly complete in Central Illinois

Nearly all of the corn and soybeans have been harvested in Central Illinois. The Illinois Department of Agriculture reports 99-percent of soybeans and 98-percent of corn have been taken out of area fields. That is slightly above the statewide numbers.

94-percent of corn has been harvested across the state as of Monday. That's 16-percent higher than the five year average and up five-percent from the previous week. Soybeans are even closer to be completely harvested. 97-percent have been removed from fields, compared to the five year average of 89-percent.
