Cat plans new Parts Distribution Center in California

The planned construction of a parts distribution center in California is part of a multi year expansion of Caterpillar's global parts distribution network. That's according to Cat Logistics President Steve Larson.

The new 400,000 square foot center is expected to open in Central California late next year. Larson says it fits Cat's needs due to access to airports and highways. This allows for the quick delivery of parts to dealers and customers.

Caterpillar announced plans earlier this year for a similar facility in Spokane, Washington. This goes along with new distribution centers in Texas and Ohio in recent years.

The California facility will be located at the Tejon Ranch Commerce Center at the junction of Interstate 5 and Highway 99.
