NWS: Increased Risk For Heat Exhaustion

A Special Weather Statement from the National Weather Service for Peoria, Woodford, Marshall, Fulton, and Tazewell Counties:

Heat index values of 100-105 degrees Thursday afternoon into early evening.

Temperatures are expected to be between 89-93 degrees.

The combination of the hot temperatures and high humidity levels will result in an increased risk for heat exhaustion for those working or playing outside this afternoon and early evening.

Use extra caution if you must be outside and drink plenty of water. Those most susceptible to the heat are the young and the elderly.
