Northmoor Road Re-Opens Midday Friday

The City of Peoria Department of Public Works reports Northmoor Road will re-open to traffic Friday. Northmoor Road near Richwoods High School has been closed since near the start of the school year for road construction.

Officials had mentioned previously that construction would cease around Thanksgiving for the winter months.

The new intersection of Northmoor Road and Rosemead Drive will be posted as a four-way stop until new traffic signals can be installed.

There will also be a change in the access to Northmoor Primary School, beginning the afternoon of Nov. 17.

All traffic going to Northmoor Primary School should turn north from Northmoor Road onto Rosemead Drive and follows the signs to the school’s parking lot. Traffic leaving Northmoor Primary School should exit the parking lot at the usual location.

Motorists are urged to allow extra travel time on Northmoor Road since the new traffic pattern may cause confusion and delays the first few days. Motorists are also urged to watch for pedestrians and school children.

Northmoor Road will remain open until March or April, 2018, when road construction will resume.

More information on the project can be obtained HERE, or by calling Peoria Public Works at 309-494-8800, Monday through Friday, from 7:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
