Lexington Man Injured In I-74 Crash

An accident on I-74 east of Morton resulted part of the interstate closed to traffic for nearly 30 minutes.

The accident occurred about 2:45 p.m. Wednesday when a pickup truck left eastbound I-74 and hit a tree.

The driver, Andrew Orrick, 33, of Lexington was taken to Peoria’s OSF Saint Francis Medical Center with what State Police described as critical, but non-life threatening injuries.

Orrick was ticketed for improper lane usage. The cause of the accident is under investigation.
