Juvenile Arrested After Bomb Threat

An arrest is made following a bomb threat at a Chillicothe school.

Chillicothe police say a 13-year-old student was interviewed and placed into custody Tuesday. The juvenile, who is not being identified, is charged with disorderly conduct.

A bomb threat forced the evacuation of the Chillicothe Junior High and Elementary Center Monday. Students were safely taken to nearby Pearce Community Center and dismissed from there.

Officials from the Peoria County Sheriff’s Department and the Peoria Explosives K-9 unit searched the school’s campus and found no evidence of an explosive device.
