Domestic Battery Arrest In Pekin

A Pekin man wanted gas money but instead wound up in the Tazewell County Jail.

Pekin police say officers were called to Brookmeadow Apartment on Broadway Road Monday on a report of a domestic battery in progress.

Antonio Geiler, 21, allegedly went to an apartment and told the female victim he wanted to pawn her DVR for gas money. The two began to argue after the woman refused.

The female victim told police Geiler grabbed her by the throat and pushed her against a door. As the victim went to a back room to call police, Geiler grabbed her head with both hands and slammed it against a wall several times. He then left the apartment.

Officers who arrived on the scene said the victim had suffered injuries consistent with her complaint.

Geiler returned to the apartment as officers were on the scene but took off running into the nearby Food Depot. Officers surrounded the business and located Geiler in the store and arrested him.
