The deaths of a man and woman in Creve Coeur are believed to be the result of domestic violence.

Officers discovered the bodies of Jeremy Brown, 42, and Billie Castellano, 34, in their apartment Tuesday afternoon. Officers were dispatched to check on the couple’s welfare after friends and family had reported they could not be contacted for several hours.

The Journal Star reports the Tazewell County State’s Attorney’s office claims Brown apparently shot Castellano and then turned the weapon on himself. Each victim had sustained a gunshot wound to the head, according to the office, and a weapon was recovered. No other information has been released.

Tazewell County Coroner Jeff Baldi is expected to discuss this case and other domestic violence cases next Thursday. Baldi has scheduled a news conference in his office and will be joined by Center of Prevention of Abuse Executive Director Carol Merna.
