A man wanted for bank robbery is under arrest.
Peoria police have been investigating the Jan. 11 alleged armed robbery at the Commerce Bank branch at 2609 N. Knoxville Avenue.
Information gathered at the scene indicated two men entered bank armed with guns. After the robbery, the men fled the area in a white four-door vehicle.
During the investigation, detectives identified one of the suspects as Tarius Ganaway, 28.
Police say Ganaway was located in Rockford Jan. 26 by U.S. Marshals and Rockford Police, and was arrested on a Illinois Department of Corrections parole violation warrant and returned to the Department of Corrections.
A Peoria County arrest warrant for armed robbery was issued against Ganaway Jan. 27.
Ganway is currently awaiting extradition to Peoria.
The second suspect in the Commerce Bank incident remains at large. The suspect is describes as a male of unknown race with a light complexion, thin build and armed with a shotgun. The suspect was wearing black shoes, black pants, a black hooded shirt and a black mask.
