Aggravated Battery Suspect Arrested In Morton

A man police sought in connection with life threatening injuries to another man has been arrested in Morton.

Peoria police say Christopher Huff, 21, was taken into custody around 5:45 p.m. Friday in Morton in conjunction with Morton police officers. After being transported to the Peoria Police Department for an interview, Huff was later booked in the Peoria County Jail on a charge of aggravated battery.

Huff’s last known address was in Manito.

Police responded to a fight call around 1:30 a.m. Oct. 2 in the Big Al’s parking lot in the 400 block of Southwest Jefferson. Officers found a man suffering from an obvious head injury. The victim, who has not been identified, was transported to a local hospital with what police say were “life threatening injuries.”

During the course of their investigation, detectives identified Huff as the suspect.
